A candidate for membership by baptism may present himself at any regular church meeting by professing an experience of Christian salvation, and may be received as such by a vocal expression of welcome by the members present. Mt. Zion Baptist Church baptizes by submersion, since this was how Jesus was baptized (according to Mark 1:9-10 KJV).
A member in good standing of another Baptist church of like faith and order — that is, a church subscribing to the same doctrine and covenant as does Mt. Zion Baptist Church — may be received in membership as in Article V., Section 2, subject to the receipt of a favorable letter from his church.
Should a member of another Baptist church of like faith and order — that is a church subscribing to the same doctrine and covenant as does Mt. Zion Baptist Church — present himself for membership and is unable to furnish a letter, either because his church has disbanded, or for any other reason, the church may receive the candidate.
If you have any questions or are interested in placing membership, please fill out the form below and we will contact you as soon as possible. God bless!
