Sermon on the Mount Ministry Website Banner

Mt. Zion Baptist Church exists to exalt God through sincere worship; to edify Christians through faithful Bible teaching and discipleship training; to evangelize non-Christians through passionate witness of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to exhibit Christlikeness through a positive Christian presence in our community.

Here at Mt. Zion, we believe there should be a central purpose for everything we do.  We do not believe things just happen. Since we believe in the sovereignty of God, we believe everything should have a purpose.  We have brought every ministry under a purpose.

Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Sunday School also exists to build on-going mission Christians through open Bible Study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship.

Our four-fold task to accomplish this is:

  1. Exalt the Savior
  2. Equip the Saints
  3. Engage the Servants
  4. Evangelize the Sinner

“There is a place just for you in Sunday School!”

We also offer Discipleship Training classes on a seasonal basis during the week and on Wednesday nights.

Sunday School

Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and for building on-mission Christians through open Bible Study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship. Our six-fold task to accomplish this is:

– Teach the Bible
– Enroll people in Bible Study
– Witness to people about Christ and practice New Testament Evangelism
– Love, care and minister to members and non-members of Bible Study
– Lead members to grow through personal, family and church worship
– Support and communicate the work of the church Senior Adult Ministry

Our desire at Mt. Zion is to build a strong foundation for each and every preschooler.  Through Sunday School, Preschool Worship, Music and many more special activities, we hope to fill every child with the love of Jesus.

Sunday night and Wednesday night services especially designed for preschoolers are also part of our ministry here at Mt. Zion.

For children under the age of 2, we have a wonderful nursery that provides Sunday School just for babies.  Nursery ministry is also provided for Sunday night and Wednesday night services.

R.e.a.l. Women

The ministry of “R.E.A.L. Women of Mt Zion” (Relationships, Encouragement, Authenticity, Laughter) provides opportunities for meaningful fellowship, spiritual growth and ways to minister to the needs of our community. Our women’s ministry is a place for the women of Mt. Zion to grow spiritually together. We offer activities throughout the year for our ladies to come together and socialize as well as further their relationship with God. We have Bible studies and we attend area women’s conferences together. We would encourage all women of all ages to join us for our planned activities during the year. We know you will have a great time of fellowship!

Iron Men

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV)

This ministry is dedicated to helping people in need, primarily with various forms of physical labor such as home repairs, mowing, moving, tree debris and limb removal, etc.

These services are provided through the love of Jesus Christ. There is no charge.

The Iron Men Ministry has touched many people and can be a powerful witness to our Lord and Savior.

The Iron Men fellowship derives a great deal of joy from helping our friends and neighbors. It isn’t work, it’s fun!

Iron Men Ministry/fellowship meets on the third Thursday of the month.
