Our Leadership Team

Our Statement of Purpose
Here at Mt. Zion, we believe there should be a central purpose for everything we do. We do not believe things just happen. Since we believe in the sovereignty of God, we believe everything should have a purpose. We have brought every ministry under a purpose:
  • Mt. Zion is here to exalt our wonderful Savior. Our desire is to see Christ lifted up in every ministry aspect of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. John 12:32 says, “If I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me.”
  • Mt. Zion exists to equip those who are saved for spiritual growth and service. We believe that a vital part of a life-changing salvation experience is to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We place a priority on providing an atmosphere where men, women, students, and children can grow and develop in their own spiritual walk with God. Ephesians 4:11-13
  • Mt. Zion is here to share the good news of God’s life-changing salvation. We strongly believe that salvation only comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. God’s word teaches us that all people who die without Jesus Christ as Savior will be eternally lost. John 3:3

Mt. Zion Baptist Church welcomes you to our fellowship. Mt. Zion, there is truly No Place Like This Place. If you have any questions about our church, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Wes Conner
Senior Pastor

Our Senior Pastor, Rev. Wes Conner, and his wife Eve came to Mt. Zion Baptist Church in April 2015. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, they have lived in Kentucky since 2011 and have two married children and one grandson. Pastor Conner is a graduate of Trinity Baptist College and Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently a candidate for his doctorate in ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. He is a former youth pastor and retired United States Army intelligence officer, and he served as a senior pastor for eight years in Northern Virginia prior to coming to Kentucky.

Pastor Wes is firmly devoted to feeding God’s people with Christ-centered expository Bible preaching and to leading
God’s people to have a vision of reaching others with the gospel message and teaching them biblical truth. His life’s verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9,

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Brent Lee
Associate Pastor

Rev. Brent Lee, and his wife Terris accepted the position of Associate Pastor of Education and Discipleship at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in July of 2015 where he happily serves with his family today.  Pastor Brent and Terris have two sons, Andrew and Jonathan, who happily serve the church when and where they can. Pastor Brent holds a BA in Organizational Leadership from Mid-Continent University and an MA in Church Leadership from Liberty University.  He is just a few credit hours short of a second MA in Religious Education and would like to finish that degree sometime soon. He is a former Youth Leader and has served as Senior Pastor for 14 years in the Jackson Purchase Region of Western KY before coming to Mt. Zion. Pastor Brent is firmly devoted to equipping the church to be a Great Commission church. He is passionate about reaching young families with kids for Christ and growing the Lords church through effective evangelism. His life’s verse is Matthew 6:33, But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
