Seeking a Director of Children & Youth Ministries

Mount Zion Baptist Church of West Paducah, Kentucky is seeking to add another leadership member to our team and family. This individual will be a part of a ministry team that values the discipleship process, missions involvement, and community outreach. Our ministry team functions as a cohesive family believing that we must strive in unity and grow in the faith to be effective leaders. Our Director of Children and Youth Ministries will not only be a member of our leadership team but a part of our church family. This individual will oversee the volunteers in each area of next-generation ministries.
Applicants will need to be passionate about discipleship for the entire family. The individual will take on direct teaching roles as well as equipping and guiding volunteers. This is a full-time ministry position and will require office hours. We recognize that much of ministry is conducted offsite and absence for this purpose is acceptable and encouraged. Accountability for this time and all areas of ministry will be maintained by the senior pastor.  This position is open to individuals who are seeking an ordained ministry position and are applicable for ordination under the direction of scripture or non-ordainable individuals seeking a ministry position and are wishing to be commissioned to serve in a director capacity. Requirements:

• Should have experience in both youth and children’s ministry including teaching. 
• Should have experience coordinating student ministry events including mission trips. 
• Must have a clear history of heavy involvement and faithful attendance in an established church of like faith. 
• Must have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ including evidence of sanctification (Fruits of the Spirit) as attested to by character references. 
• Must be able to articulate spiritual matters such as salvation. 
• Must agree with and demonstrate lifestyle adherence to the doctrinal statements of the Baptist Faith and Message. 
• Applicants should be legally married, and the marriage must adhere to the Biblical definition of marriage and have the full support of their spouse. 
• Applicants must have zero convictions or corrective actions by an employer or organization in regard to harassment, crime, and immoral conduct or communication with a minor.   
• Must possess a degree in a relevant ministry field or must be able to demonstrate practical wisdom by relevant experience and agree to pursue a degree while at MZBC.
• Applicants and applicable immediate family must become active members of MZBC if hired.
• Must strive for ministry excellence while maintaining an attitude of grace.
